About Teri-Ellen
Teri-Ellen is a partner at Beckett. She works in the Personal Injury Group and Insurance Defence Group.
Born and raised in London, Teri attended the University of Western Ontario and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She obtained her Juris Doctor in 2005 from Osgoode Hall Law School, placing within the top nine percent of her class.
Teri worked at the Ontario Securities Commission as a summer law student and articled with a national law firm before being called to the Ontario Bar in 2006.
Teri’s plaintiff practice at Beckett focuses on representing people injured in car accidents, slip and falls, and other incidents, with a particular interest in representing children who have been injured as a result of negligence. Committed to obtaining the best possible result for each client, Teri assists her clients with complex insurance matters, including disputes related to automobile accident benefits, short-term disability benefits, and long-term disability benefits.
Teri has litigated complicated personal injury and medical malpractice matters, appearing as co-counsel in several trials. She has considerable experience representing clients who have sustained catastrophic impairments, including traumatic brain injuries.
Representing clients in trials, hearings, motions, and mediations, Teri has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, Social Security Tribunal, Social Benefits Tribunal, and Licence Appeal Tribunal.
Teri is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, and Middlesex Law Association.
Outside of the practice of law, Teri enjoys travelling, hiking, canoeing, golfing, and spending time with her family.
