Former Gander Collegiate Teachers Charged with Decades-Old Sexual Assaults

Two retired teachers who taught at Gander Collegiate have been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault against former students dating back to the late 1970s and early 80s.

Seventy-two-year-old Wayne Hurley, now living in Bay Roberts, is charged with four counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual assault.

Meanwhile, 75-year-old Wayne Oates, a current resident of Clarenville is charged with indecent assault and gross indecency.

RCMP say they have spoken with numerous complainants and believe there may be other victims and witnesses who have not yet come forward.
