Former Wingham Scout Leader Facing Multiple Sexual Assault Charges

A former Huron County scout leader is facing several sexual assault charges .

Martin Cretier, 71, of North Huron, has been charged with four counts of indecent assault and four counts of gross indecency stemming from alleged incidents dating back to the summers of 1978 and 1976 near the town of Wingham.

At the time, Cretier was a volunteer scout leader with the Wingham scout troop.

The charges relate to two teenaged scouts whom Cretier mentored, police said.

Cretier was arrested Wednesday and has been released from custody. He's set to appear in court Oct. 15.
