Ottawa teacher charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation

POLICE CONCERNED THERE COULD BE OTHER VICTIMS

A 56-year-old Ottawa school teacher has been charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation after allegations surfaced that he inappropriately touched one of his students.

Timothy Stanutz, of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, was charged Friday and was expected to appear in court the same day, Ottawa police said in a news release.

Investigators allege the incidents occurred in the course of his duties, and they're concerned there could be other victims.
